Dr. Tara Pierce, DC, LAc, MDNC
Dr. Pierce is a doctor of chiropractic and a licensed acupuncturist with a masters degree in acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine and is master dry needling certified.
Tara began her journey in higher education studying exercise physiology, originally intending to apply to physical therapy school. A chance encounter with a female chiropractor in her hometown - and her first adjustment - led her to learn more about chiropractic, and eventually redirect her path.
As she neared the end of her chiropractic doctorate training, Tara decided to expand her clinical knowledge and joined the university’s acupuncture and Chinese medicine program in order to offer her future patients a greater variety of treatment options. Upon discovering the incredible relief patients experienced with musculoskeletal needling, Tara continued her education as a master dry needling certified provider.
She completed her graduate level studies and opened her practice in 2012 and has been serving Newport Beach and the surrounding Orange County area ever since!
Dr. Pierce believes in the power each individual has in their health destiny. It is her goal for each individual she has the responsibility of caring for to help them find solutions, but also instill in them self efficacy along their healing path. After witnessing practice models as an intern that were dependent on convincing patients that they needed months and months of ongoing treatment, that frankly wasn’t justified, Tara made it her goal to never become that type of practitioner who sold fear and dependence. At the core of your healthcare team is you, and each practitioner who is lucky enough to be a part of it - is supporting cast.
Over the course of her career, Dr. Pierce has taken special interest in helping expecting moms find relief from some of the more unpleasant aspects of pregnancy. Webster certified in 2014, Tara has been helping the prenatal population in her OC office find relief from pelvic pain, lower back pain and headaches ever since. She has also had the honor of helping families achieve their dreams of expanding their families by assisting with acupuncture as a compliment to aid in successful IVF procedures. As one of Newport Beach’s best chiropractors and acupuncturists, it has also been a passion of hers to help people find relief from pain when they have not had success with other practitioners and treatments. She’s had the opportunity to alleviate pain when hope was almost lost through dry needling techniques and chiropractic care.
Her Newport Beach practice is a little haven from the day to day grind, where people can seek relief from pain, stress and tension through a variety of healing modalities, in a serene and relaxing atmosphere. It’s low volume and patient-centered, just as it should be.
Lindsey Shields, CMT
Lindsey is a massage therapist with an intuitive touch. Because of her compassionate personality she found Massage to be the most rewarding career path for her. She has expertise in several modalities. Her specialties include Deep tissue, Prenatal, Lymphatic Drainage, Swedish and assisted stretching.
Lindsey is available for massage therapy services in our Newport Beach office Tuesday and Thursday afternoons as well as Friday and Saturday mornings by appointment only.
