Pain relief: Chiropractic care can be an effective and safe way to reduce acute and chronic pain. We use safe, gentle and appropriately prescribed techniques when chiropractic joint manipulation is indicated.

Integration: Chiropractic care integrates harmoniously with other methods of healthcare like physical therapy, acupuncture, dry needling, massage and medical treatments. To learn more about soft tissue techniques like Graston and myofascial cupping, check this out. We see ourselves as part of your team and like to work well with others!

Improved function: The whole point is getting you back to your baseline or better. In order to do that, lifestyle advise, exercise recommendations and mindset discussions work in concert with the hands-on care we provide to make meaningful, lasting change.

  • A chiropractic adjustment is a procedure in which a trained specialist uses their hands or a small instrument to apply a controlled, sudden force to a spinal joint. Chiropractic is used primarily to treat pain conditions related to the human musculoskeletal system, ie. — your muscles, joints, and their function.

  • Chiropractic adjustments generally should not hurt. If you have had an acute injury the area may be hypersensitive, which will be considered when determining if manipulation is appropriate. You might feel a “pop” during and some soreness after, but there is little to no pain involved during the actual treatment.

  • Chiropractic manipulation is a safe procedure when applied appropriately. There are some circumstances where it may not be advisable to have spinal or other joint manipulation. If you have a known connective tissue disorder with significant joint hypermobility, joint manipulation may not be an ideal intervention, and if it is used, the regions adjusted should be considered with caution. Advanced arthritic conditions, extremity weakness or functional deficits of the extremities or bowels/bladder, or sudden onset of “thunderclap” headache would be contraindications to undergoing spinal manipulation by a chiropractor or other trained healthcare provider. In these cases medical intervention is necessary.

  • Chiropractic can treat a range of issues such as:

    — Pain and stiffness in the neck, shoulders, back, arms, etc.

    — Migraines and tension headaches

    — Sciatica

    — Injuries and trauma

    — Scoliosis

    — Leg pain and nerve disorders

    — Sports injuries and tendinitis

    — Carpal tunnel syndrome

    — Fibromyalgia

  • Prenatal chiropractic care is safe. Dr. Pierce is Webster certified and has treated hundreds of women in the Newport Beach area experiencing pregnancy related back and hip pain, pelvic pain, headaches, sciatica and more. Prenatal chiropractors have the experience and confidence treated the pregnant patient. This is important to vet before choosing your chiropractor.

  • New patient chiropractic encounters involve a thorough history discussion, appropriate physical examination and treatment provided on the same date of service. These visits are typically an hour in length. If imaging or other consult is appropriate this will be recommended at this time.

  • Each 20-30 minute follow up session will include review of your current status, new issues and follow up treatments. Chiropractic care may include such therapies as joint and muscle manipulation, rehabilitative exercise and education.

  • Includes a combination of the two services. After the initial history and any appropriate examination, acupuncture or dry needling treatment, as well as manual therapy and chiropractic adjustment will be given during the time of this session.

  • Follow up combination chiropractic and acupuncture treatment provided on the same date of service.
